Kyler wanted his share of the limelight in the WL Spring Challenge, so here is his 'It's Not My Fault' Drabble.

“It isn’t my fault!” Kyler insisted.

“How can your standing there with a monkey on your shoulder, not be your fault?” Hugh demanded.

“Kadyn’s not allowed to keep him.”

“Well neither can you.”

“But he likes living with a family, and he’s had all his shots.” Kyler tried to persuade his Tops.

“We discussed it and decided on no pets, Ky honey,” Patrick patiently reminded him.

“No! You said no snakes.”

Hugh’s eyes narrowed and he menacingly advanced on his Brat. “Get that creature out of here. Now!”

“I’m getting! I’m getting!” Kyler hollered as he beat a hasty retreat.

About our Characters:

Hugh Jackson was born in the US but traveled to Canada in his teens. He ran away from home when he was sixteen and has been on his own since then. He does not keep in touch with any of his family. He worked to put himself through school and after graduating with a Diploma in Education, he got a job as a teacher. He found he liked working with young men as they were pliable and he was good at mentoring them and giving them a good start in life; something he didn't really have. He teaches physical education and also works part-time as life guard at the swimming club.

When one of his students got hurt in class, he rushed the boy to the emergency ward at the general hospital and met Dr. Patrick Dean. There was an instant attraction and within months they were seeing one another seriously and exclusively. They decided to move in together and have been together for four years.

They do not have a discipline relationship, although Hugh might occasionally swat his partner and he usually calls the shots too when they came head-to-head on a domestic matter. Other than that, they are mostly equal partners.

But Hugh is a super top, very strict and stern; a no-nonsense kind of guy. It begs the questions: Does he need a Brat?

After graduating from medical school, Patrick Dean joined the Red Cross as a medical officer and was posted overseas for several years. Tired of the travels and foreign lands, he quite the Red Cross and returned to his hometown in Canada and began to work in the Medical Clinic in Jade Heights.

He is an only child and wanting to be close to his aging parents was one of the reasons he came back to Jade Heights. He is currently living with a partner, Hugh. They have been together for almost four years. But their lives may be about to change.

Patrick is witty, humourous, pretty easy-going and reasonable, a bit of a teaser. He is passionate about his work so his partner has to be tolerant and understanding. He can be strict if he has to be and can punish if pushed too much, although he prefers to use gentle means to resolve matters. He would probably allow his Brat, if he had one, to twist him around his fingers; up to a certain extent, that is.

Kyler is the only son of the late Robert Jamieson and Carissa Jamieson. His Father died in a coal mining accident when Kyler was twelve years old, and his mother moved them out to Jade Heights to keep house for her bachelor brother, Kipper, who at the time was a jade miner which was considered a great deal safer than going underground.

Kyler was a good student and excelled at school. He has worked part-time since coming to their new mountain home. Not wanting to leave his mother and unable to afford full-time university had him decide to take correspondence courses. He is working towards his degree in business while working as a night watchman at the mine where his uncle has been the accountant for many years.

Both his mother and uncle know of his sexual orientation and both are unperturbed by it. Kyler would excel in a loving relationship with a good Top. He is still wondering how he lucked out by getting two of them.
